About StudioStu

StudioStu moved his studio from San Francisco to Lafayette in 2003.

After spending 20 years in the American Can Building on Potrero Hill in SF, Stu moved his studio to Lafayette in 2003. The move coincided with his transition from traditional film to digital imaging.  Once the studio was completed, he filled it with digital equipment and learned how to use it all (at the same time many other photographers were making a similar journey).

It was a wonderful and timely switch, though the photographer is now responsible for so much more than a single piece of film.  In essence, Stu is responsible for every step of the image building process: color management,

enhancements, corrections to images, and adding/subtracting details in product photography as well as retouching models/subjects.

Stu feels quite at home - literally - in Lafayette.  Besides regular client flow, Stu supplies Town Hall Theatre Lafayette, the Lafayette Community Center and Saint Mary's College of Moraga with promotional images any time they are needed.

Stu coaches 13U Girls Volleyball for Diablo Valley Volleyball Club during the club season Dec-May.
